Exercise Freedom Together- Ambassador Volunteer
Canada is a land of freedom and opportunity because through our history young men and women, many your age, when called upon donned the uniform of our country and went off to war to protect the freedoms we so enjoy. 120,000 never came back. For our tomorrows they gave their todays and WE MUST NEVER FORGET. Field of Crosses is a local charitable organization whose mission is to memorialize the historic sacrifices of our local heroes who bravely lost their lives in active combat. This is done through the erection of over 3500 white crosses on a 5-acre park on Memorial Drive in Calgary, AB during the weeks leading up to Remembrance Day. Each cross bares the name of a Calgarian or Southern Albertan who paid the ultimate sacrifice. We must never forget the atrocities of war and the human casualties that go along with it; remembering our past allows us to appreciate the present and strive for a better future.
The goal of the Exercise Freedom Together initiative is to energize prospective donors to get outside and celebrate our freedoms in a time where it has felt limited, while also educating participants on Canadian history. We are encouraging people to take part by Donating to the Field of Crosses, then running/walking/biking 3km and challenging others within their social circles to do the same.
Ambassadors for the Field of Crosses – Exercise Freedom Together program are individuals who are self determined, socially engaged, and active on social media. Exercise Freedom Together is primarily a social media charged fundraising campaign that welcomes participants of all ages.
The role of the Ambassador is extremely important in regard to the success of this campaign. You are the energy, excitement, and spirit of this initiative. As a program Ambassador, you will be required to participate in the Exercise Freedom Together event by completing the 3km, sharing your experience with your social circles, and encouraging your friends and family to participate. Other requirements of this role include:
- A minimum age of 16
- Active user of social media (specifically Instagram and Facebook).
We ask that our ambassadors be prepared to assist us throughout the duration of this campaign which will run from mid July through November.
