The Field of Crosses Memorial is on display between November 1 – 11 each year. The public is welcome to walk amongst the crosses 24/7. The crosses are illuminated throughout the night. Visitors are encouraged to stop in front of each cross that moves them to pay respect to that soldier by quietly calling their name out loud while holding their hand over their heart and expressing whatever sentiment they are feeling.
Sunrise and Sunset ceremonies are held each day from November 1 until November 10 and the public is always welcome. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to sunrise or sunset.
Night of Lights – November 10 – Lanterns are placed in front of the 3,620 crosses and burn from sunset until sunrise Remembrance Day. In preparation for the Night of Lights only volunteers will be allowed on site between 9 AM until 4 PM on this day.
Remembrance Day – November 11 – A televised Remembrance Day Ceremony is held at the field at 10:00 AM. Parking is very restricted in the parking lot adjacent to the field this day. It is recommended that people park on the South side of the river in the Eau Claire area and walk the short distance across the bridge to the field. Memorial Drive, directly in front of the Field of Crosses will be closed from 9 AM until after the ceremony.
